[358] Bhikkhus, the thought of renunciation (nekkhammavitakka) arises with a cause (sanidānaṃ), not without a cause; the thought of non-ill will (abyāpādavitakka) arises with a cause, not without a cause; the thought of harmlessness (avihiṃsāvitakka) arises with a cause, not without a cause.
