[450] Dwelling at Sāvatthī … There the Blessed One … "Bhikkhus, this round of rebirths (saṃsāra) is without discoverable beginning (anamatagga) … Bhikkhus, it is not easy to find a being who has not previously been one's mother during this long course. For what reason? Bhikkhus, this round of rebirths is without discoverable beginning … it is enough to be liberated." The fourth [sutta]. [For all (the suttas of this series) the elision is the same.]
