[506] Bhikkhus, to whatever extent I wish, I wield the manifold kinds of spiritual power (iddhividha): having been one, I become many; having been many, I become one; I appear and vanish; I go unhindered through walls, through ramparts, through mountains, as though through space; I dive in and out of the earth as though it were water; I walk on water without breaking its surface as though on earth; seated cross-legged I travel through the air like a winged bird; with my hand I touch and stroke even this moon and sun, so mighty and so powerful; I exercise mastery with the body even as far as the brahmā world (brahmaloka). Kassapa too, bhikkhus, to whatever extent he wishes, wields the manifold kinds of spiritual power … he exercises mastery with the body even as far as the brahmā world.
