[651] "Here, friend, as I was descending from Mount Gijjhakūṭa, I saw a man sunk in a pit of excrement, eating excrement with both hands."
"Bhikkhus, that being was a brahmin in this very Rājagaha. In the dispensation (pāvacana) of the Perfectly Enlightened One (sammāsambuddha) Kassapa, having invited the Saṅgha of bhikkhus to a meal, he had troughs filled with excrement, had the time announced, and said this: 'Oh, sirs, eat as much as you wish, and carry some away as well!'"
