[669] "Just so, bhikkhus, when any bhikkhu has developed the liberation of mind (cetovimutti) through loving-kindness, cultivated it, made it a vehicle, made it a basis, carried it out, consolidated it, and thoroughly undertaken it — if a non-human being (amanussa) should think that bhikkhu's mind (citta) could be unsettled, then that very non-human being would only partake of weariness and vexation. Therefore, bhikkhus, you should train thus: 'We shall develop the liberation of mind through loving-kindness, cultivate it, make it a vehicle, make it a basis, carry it out, consolidate it, and thoroughly undertake it.' Thus, bhikkhus, should you train."
The fifth [sutta].
