[121] "And what, bhikkhus, is perception (saññā)? There are these six classes of perception (saññākāyā): perception of forms, perception of sounds, perception of odours, perception of tastes, perception of tangibles, perception of dhammas. This, bhikkhus, is called perception. With the origin of contact (phassa) there is the origin of perception; with the cessation of contact there is the cessation of perception. This very Noble Eightfold Path is the way of practice leading to the cessation of perception, namely: right view … right concentration … for them there is no round (vaṭṭa) for their description."
