[278] "And what, bhikkhus, is the portion (anta) that is the way of practice (paṭipadā) leading to the cessation of identity (sakkāya)? It is just this Noble Eightfold Path; that is to say: right view, right intention, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, right concentration (samādhi). This, bhikkhus, is called the portion that is the way of practice leading to the cessation of identity. "These, bhikkhus, are the four portions." [Footnote ๑: In the Po. (Sinhalese/other) reading, 'ayameva' is absent.]
