[335] At Sāvatthī. Bhikkhus, whatever is impermanent — you should abandon desire (chanda) for it. And what, bhikkhus, is impermanent? Form (rūpa), bhikkhus, is impermanent; you should abandon desire for it. Feeling (vedanā) is impermanent … Perception … Volitional formations … Consciousness is impermanent; you should abandon desire for it. Bhikkhus, whatever is impermanent — you should abandon desire for it.
