[477] At Sāvatthī. Bhikkhus, the earth element (paṭhavīdhātu) is impermanent (anicca), subject to change, becoming otherwise. The water element (āpodhātu) … The fire element (tejodhātu) … The air element (vāyodhātu) … The space element (ākāsadhātu) … The consciousness element (viññāṇadhātu) is impermanent, subject to change, becoming otherwise. Bhikkhus, one who has faith in and is resolved upon these dhammas thus — this one is called a faith-follower (saddhānusārī) … bound for full awakening.
