[487] At Sāvatthī. Bhikkhus, whatever is the arising and the persistence of feeling (vedanā) born of eye-contact (cakkhusamphassa) … [this is] … the manifestation of aging and death (jarāmaraṇa). … Whatever is the arising, the persistence, the production, the manifestation of feeling born of mind-contact — this is the arising of suffering (dukkha), the persistence of diseases, the manifestation of aging and death.
