[51] And what, bhikkhus, is the taking up of the burden (bhārādāna)? It is this craving (taṇhā) that leads to renewed existence, accompanied by delight and lust, delighting now here, now there; that is: craving for sensual pleasures, craving for existence, craving for non-existence. This, bhikkhus, is called the taking up of the burden.
