[142] "And what, bhikkhus, are the six bases of mastery (abhibhāyatana)? Here, bhikkhus, when a bhikkhu has seen a form (rūpa) with the eye, there do not arise evil unwholesome dhammas—memories and intentions (sarasaṅkappā) connected with the fetters (saṃyojana). It should be understood by that bhikkhu: 'This base (āyatana) has been mastered.' For this was called a base of mastery by the Blessed One. …
