[307] Bhikkhus, when there are hands, taking up and putting down occur; when there are feet, going forward and coming back occur; when there are joints, bending and stretching occur; when there is a belly, hunger and thirst occur. In the same way, bhikkhus, when there is the eye, internal pleasure and pain arise with eye-contact (cakkhusamphassa) as condition … when there is the tongue … when there is the mind (mano), internal pleasure and pain arise with mind-contact as condition.
