[467] "Bhikkhus, a woman (mātugāma) possessed of three qualities is, for the most part, upon the breaking up of the body, after death, reborn in the plane of misery (apāya), the bad destination, the lower world, hell (niraya). What are the three? Here, bhikkhus, in the morning a woman dwells at home with a mind (citta) obsessed by the stain of stinginess (macchera); at midday she dwells at home with a mind obsessed by envy (issā); in the evening she dwells at home with a mind obsessed by sensual lust (kāmarāga). Possessed of these three qualities, bhikkhus, a woman is, for the most part, upon the breaking up of the body, after death, reborn in the plane of misery, the bad destination, the lower world, hell."
