[656] "In that case, headman (gāmaṇi), those ascetics and brahmins who are of such a doctrine and such a view — 'Whoever takes what is not given, all such persons experience suffering (dukkha) and grief in this very life' — did they speak truth or falsehood?" … "Is it fitting to place confidence in them?" "Surely not, venerable sir."
