[658] "There, headman (gāmaṇi), as for those ascetics and brahmins who are of such a doctrine, of such a view: 'Whoever engages in sexual misconduct (kāmesu micchā carati) — every such person experiences suffering (dukkha) and grief in this very life' — did they speak truth or falsehood?" … "Is it fitting, then, to place confidence in them?" "Surely not, venerable sir."
