[753] That man saw Khemā the bhikkhunī (bhikkhunī), who had taken up residence at Toraṇavatthu. Having seen her, he approached King Pasenadi of Kosala; having approached, he said this to King Pasenadi of Kosala: "Sire, there is at Toraṇavatthu no ascetic or brahmin of such a kind as your majesty might visit. But there is, sire, a bhikkhunī named Khemā, a female disciple (sāvikā) of that Blessed One, the Arahant, the Perfectly Enlightened One. Now concerning that venerable lady a fair report of this kind has spread abroad: 'She is wise, competent, intelligent, learned, a brilliant speaker, of excellent quick-wittedness.' Let your majesty visit her."
