[1059] "Here, venerable sir, a bhikkhu whose taints are destroyed (khīṇāsava) dwells with respect and deference toward the Teacher; he dwells with respect and deference toward the Dhamma; he dwells with respect and deference toward the Saṅgha; he dwells with respect and deference toward the training (sikkhā); he dwells with respect and deference toward concentration (samādhi). This, venerable sir, is the supreme act of homage (paramanipaccakāra) which a bhikkhu whose taints are destroyed, in carrying it on, carries on toward the Tathāgata or toward the Tathāgata's teaching."
