[1124] Then the Blessed One approached the Pāvāla Shrine (Pāvālacetiya); having approached, he sat down on the seat that had been prepared. The Venerable Ānanda, having paid homage to the Blessed One, sat down to one side. As the Venerable Ānanda was sitting to one side, the Blessed One said this to him: "Delightful, Ānanda, is Vesālī; delightful is the Udena Shrine; delightful is the Gotamaka Shrine; delightful is the Sattamba Shrine; delightful is the Bahuputtaka Shrine; delightful is the Sārandada Shrine; delightful is the Pāvāla Shrine. Whoever, Ānanda, has developed the four bases of spiritual power (iddhipāda), cultivated them, made them a vehicle, made them a foundation, established them, consolidated them, and properly undertaken them, could, if he wished, remain for an aeon (kappa) or for the remainder of the aeon.
