[1263] Setting at Sāvatthī. Then, while the Venerable Anuruddha was alone in seclusion, a reflection arose in his mind thus: "Whosoever have neglected the four establishments of mindfulness (satipaṭṭhāna) have neglected the noble path leading rightly to the destruction of suffering (dukkha); whosoever have undertaken the four establishments of mindfulness have undertaken the noble path leading rightly to the destruction of suffering."
