[1373] On one occasion, friend (āvuso) Mahānāma, the Blessed One was dwelling at Icchānaṅgala, in the Icchānaṅgala woodland grove. There, friend, [2] the Blessed One addressed the bhikkhus: "Bhikkhus, I wish to go into seclusion (paṭisallāna) for three months. No one is to approach me except the one bhikkhu who brings the almsfood." "Yes, venerable sir," friend, [3] those bhikkhus replied to the Blessed One, and indeed no one approached the Blessed One except the one bhikkhu who brought the almsfood.
