[1436] Then Isidatta and Purāṇa the chamberlains (thapati) approached the Blessed One; having approached, they paid homage to the Blessed One and followed along close behind the Blessed One. Then the Blessed One, turning aside from the road, approached the foot of a certain tree; having approached, he sat down on a seat that had been prepared. Isidatta and Purāṇa the chamberlains, having paid homage to the Blessed One, sat down to one side. Sitting to one side, Isidatta and Purāṇa the chamberlains said this to the Blessed One:
