[1474] "Ānanda, the bhikkhu Asoka has died. With the destruction of the taints (āsava), he had realized for himself with direct knowledge, in this very life, the taintless liberation of mind and liberation by wisdom, and having entered upon it, had dwelt therein." (This has the same setting as the preceding declaration.)
