[1610] Just as rivers, resorted to by hosts and companies of people, many in number, flowing along, reach the ocean—the great mass of waters, immeasurable, the mighty lake, full of terrors, the abode of hosts of gems— even so do the streams of merit flow to the wise person who gives food, drink, and clothing, the donor of beds, seats, and coverings, just as rivers, bearing their waters, flow to the sea.
