[24] One in whom faith (saddhā) and wisdom (paññā) are the qualities yoked as the pair, with faith as the pole;
whose shaft is conscience (hiri), whose reins are the mind (citta), with mindfulness as the guarding charioteer —
that chariot has virtue (sīla) as its equipment, jhāna as its axle, energy as its wheels,
equanimity and concentration (samādhi) as the pole, and desirelessness as its canopy.
One whose weapons are non-ill-will, harmlessness, and seclusion,
with patience as the armor of Dhamma — he rolls on to security from bondage (yogakkhema).
This unsurpassed vehicle of Brahmā (brahmayāna), arisen within oneself:
by it the wise depart from the world, assuredly winning the victory.
