[319] Setting at Sāvatthī. "Bhikkhus, there are these three kinds of suffering (dukkhatā). What three? The suffering that is pain itself (dukkhadukkhatā), the suffering inherent in conditioned formations (saṅkhāradukkhatā), and the suffering due to change (vipariṇāmadukkhatā). These, bhikkhus, are the three kinds of suffering."
