[346] "Bhikkhus, it is for the direct knowledge (abhiññā) of these five hindrances (nīvaraṇa), for their full understanding (pariññā), for their utter destruction (parikkhaya), for their abandoning (pahāna) … that this Noble Eightfold Path is to be developed."
