[37] And what, bhikkhus, is right action (sammākammanta)? That which, bhikkhus, is abstinence (veramaṇī) from the destruction of life (pāṇātipāta), abstinence from taking what is not given (adinnādāna), abstinence from unchastity (abrahmacariya) — this, bhikkhus, is called right action.
