[557] Bhikkhus, whatever doubt there is regarding internal dhammas, that too is a hindrance (nīvaraṇa); whatever doubt there is regarding external dhammas, that too is a hindrance. Thus what comes down in the summary statement (uddesa) as "the hindrance of doubt" becomes, by this method of exposition, twofold.
