[625] "Brahmin, these seven factors of awakening (bojjhaṅga) are non-obstructing, non-hindering, and are not corruptions (upakkilesa) of the mind (citta); when developed and cultivated, they lead to the realization of the fruit of true knowledge and liberation (vijjāvimutti). What seven? The factor of awakening of mindfulness (sati), brahmin, is non-obstructing, non-hindering, and is not a corruption of the mind; when developed and cultivated, it leads to the realization of the fruit of true knowledge and liberation. … The factor of awakening of equanimity (upekkhā), brahmin, is non-obstructing, non-hindering, and is not a corruption of the mind; when developed and cultivated, it leads to the realization of the fruit of true knowledge and liberation. These, brahmin, are the seven factors of awakening that are non-obstructing, non-hindering, and are not corruptions of the mind; when developed and cultivated, they lead to the realization of the fruit of true knowledge and liberation."
