[687] "Therefore, bhikkhu, you should purify the very starting point in wholesome states. And what is the starting point of wholesome states? Virtue (sīla) that is well purified and view (diṭṭhi) that is straight. When, bhikkhu, your virtue is well purified and your view is straight, then, bhikkhu, relying upon virtue, established in virtue, you should develop the four establishments of mindfulness (satipaṭṭhāna) in a threefold way. Which four?"
