[927] And what, Bhikkhus, is the pain faculty (dukkhindriya)? Whatever bodily pain there is, Bhikkhus, whatever bodily discomfort — the painful, uncomfortable feeling (vedanā) born of body-contact — this, Bhikkhus, is called the pain faculty.
