[965] Then the Blessed One, having spoken thus, the Fortunate One, the Teacher, further said this: Shame upon you, wretched aging! Shame upon aging that makes the complexion fade! So is the pleasing figure crushed by aging. Even one who might live a hundred years— all have death (maccu) as their end; it spares nothing at all, but crushes everything alike.
