[968] "Brahmin, these five faculties (indriya) have different domains (visaya) and different ranges (gocara); they do not experience one another's range and domain. What five? The eye faculty, the ear faculty, the nose faculty, the tongue faculty, and the body faculty. Brahmin, of these five faculties—which have different domains and different ranges, and do not experience one another's range and domain—mind (mano) is the resort (paṭisaraṇa), and it is mind that experiences their range and domain."
