[971] "But, Master Gotama, what is the resort (paṭisaraṇa) of liberation (vimutti)?" "Liberation, brāhmaṇa, has Nibbāna as its resort." "But, Master Gotama, what is the resort of Nibbāna?" "You have gone beyond the scope of the question, brāhmaṇa; you were unable to grasp the limit of questioning. For, brāhmaṇa, the holy life (brahmacariya) is lived with Nibbāna as its ground, with Nibbāna as its destination, with Nibbāna as its final end."
