[175] Bhikkhus, it is impossible, there is no chance, that one possessed of misconduct by mind (manoduccarita), with that as cause, with that as condition, on the breakup of the body, after death, should be reborn in a good destination, a heavenly world — this is not possible. But it is indeed possible, bhikkhus, that one possessed of misconduct by mind, with that as cause, with that as condition, on the breakup of the body, after death, should be reborn in a state of loss (apāya), a bad destination, the lower realm, hell (niraya) — this is possible.
