[230] He is without faith (saddhā), he is immoral, he is lazy, he is unwise … He has faith, he is virtuous, his energy (vīriya) is aroused, he is wise. Bhikkhus, possessing these four qualities, the wise, competent good person (sappurisa) preserves himself unmaimed and unharmed; he is blameless and beyond reproach by the wise, and he generates much merit.
