[29] Bhikkhus, there are these five benefits of walking meditation (caṅkama). What five? One becomes able to endure long journeys; one becomes able to endure striving (padhāna); one has few afflictions; what has been eaten, drunk, chewed, and tasted comes to proper digestion; concentration (samādhi) attained through walking meditation is of long duration. These, bhikkhus, are the five benefits of walking meditation.
