[293] "Bhikkhus, I will teach these six dhammas conducive to non-decline (aparihāniyā dhammā). Listen to it. … And what, bhikkhus, are the six dhammas conducive to non-decline? Not delighting in work (na kammārāmatā), not delighting in talk (na bhassārāmatā), not delighting in sleep (na niddārāmatā), not delighting in company (na saṅgaṇikārāmatā), being easy to admonish (sovacassatā), and having good friends (kalyāṇamittatā). These, bhikkhus, are the six dhammas conducive to non-decline. "Bhikkhus, whoever in the past did not decline from wholesome qualities (kusalā dhammā), all of them did not decline from wholesome qualities by means of these very six dhammas. Whoever in the future will not decline from wholesome qualities, all of them will not decline from wholesome qualities by means of these very six dhammas. Whoever at present do not decline from wholesome qualities, all of them do not decline from wholesome qualities by means of these very six dhammas."
