[357] Bhikkhus, one possessing six qualities, even while listening to the true Dhamma (saddhamma), is incapable of entering the fixed course of rightness (niyāma) in wholesome dhammas. What six? He is possessed of obstruction by kamma; he is possessed of obstruction by defilements (kilesa); he is possessed of obstruction by kamma-result (vipāka); and he is without faith (saddhā), without zeal (chanda), and of poor wisdom (paññā). Bhikkhus, one possessing these six qualities, even while listening to the true Dhamma, is incapable of entering the fixed course of rightness in wholesome dhammas.
