Bhikkhus, endowed with six qualities the householder (gahapati) Bhallika … the householder Sudatta Anāthapiṇḍika … the householder Citta of Macchikāsaṇḍa … Hatthaka of Āḷavī … Mahānāma the Sakyan … the householder Ugga of Vesālī … the householder Uggata … Sūra Ambaṭṭha … Jīvaka Komārabhacca … the householder Nakulapitā … the householder Tavakaṇṇika … the householder Pūraṇa … the householder Isidatta … the householder Sandhāna … the householder Vijaya … the householder Vajjiyamahita … the householder Meṇḍaka … the lay follower (upāsaka) Vāseṭṭha … the lay follower Ariṭṭha … the lay follower Sādatta has come to certainty (niṭṭhaṅgata) regarding the Tathāgata, is a seer of the Deathless (amata), and lives having realized the Deathless. With which six? With unwavering confidence (aveccappasāda) in the Buddha, with unwavering confidence in the Dhamma, with unwavering confidence in the Saṅgha, with noble virtue, with noble knowledge (ñāṇa), and with noble liberation (vimutti). Endowed with these six qualities, bhikkhus, the lay follower Sādatta has come to certainty regarding the Tathāgata, is a seer of the Deathless, and lives having realized the Deathless.
