[74] Then a certain bhikkhu approached the Blessed One; having approached and paid homage to the Blessed One, he sat down to one side. Sitting to one side, that bhikkhu said this to the Blessed One: "Venerable sir, it is said, 'one who dwells in the Dhamma, one who dwells in the Dhamma.' In what way, venerable sir, is a bhikkhu one who dwells in the Dhamma (dhammavihārī)?"
"Here, a bhikkhu learns the Dhamma—the discourses (sutta) … the question-and-answer texts (vedalla)—but he does not, going further, understand its meaning with wisdom (paññā). This bhikkhu is called one abounding in learning (pariyatti), not one who dwells in the Dhamma. …
