[98] Bhikkhus, a bhikkhu possessed of five qualities, cultivating in abundance mindfulness of breathing (ānāpānasati), penetrates the unshakeable (akuppa) in no long time. Which five? Here, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu has few undertakings and few duties, is easy to support, and is well content with the requisites of life; he takes little food and is devoted to not indulging the belly; he has little torpor and is devoted to wakefulness; he is a forest-dweller with a secluded lodging; he reviews the mind (citta) according as it has been liberated. Possessed of these five qualities, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu cultivating in abundance mindfulness of breathing penetrates the unshakeable in no long time.
