[202] [112] Bhikkhus, for the direct knowledge (abhiññā) of lust (rāga), eight dhammas should be developed. What eight? (1) Percipient of form internally, one sees forms externally, limited, beautiful or ugly; one is percipient thus: 'Having overcome them, I know, I see.' (2) Percipient of form internally, one sees forms externally, measureless, beautiful or ugly; one is percipient thus: 'Having overcome them, I know, I see.' (3) Percipient of the formless internally, one sees forms externally, limited, beautiful or ugly; one is percipient thus: 'Having overcome them, I know, I see.' (4) Percipient of the formless internally, one sees forms externally, measureless, beautiful or ugly; one is percipient thus: 'Having overcome them, I know, I see.' (5) Percipient of the formless internally, one sees forms externally, blue, blue in color, blue in appearance, blue in luster … (6) yellow, yellow in color, yellow in appearance, yellow in luster … (7) red, red in color, red in appearance, red in luster … (8) white, white in color, white in appearance, white in luster; one is percipient thus: 'Having overcome them, I know, I see.' Bhikkhus, for the direct knowledge of lust, these eight dhammas should be developed.
