[19] Bhikkhus, there are these ten abodes of the noble ones (ariyavāsā), in which the noble ones have dwelt in the past, dwell now, or will dwell in the future. What ten? Here, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu has abandoned five factors; is endowed with six factors; has a single guard; has four supports (apassena); has dispelled the sectarian truths (paccekasacca); has completely relinquished seeking (esanā); has unclouded intentions; has tranquilized the bodily formation (kāyasaṅkhāra); is well liberated in mind (citta); and is well liberated by wisdom. These, bhikkhus, are the ten abodes of the noble ones, in which the noble ones have dwelt in the past, dwell now, or will dwell in the future.
