[167] The Buddha, having gone to the little river Kukuṭā,
whose water was clear, whose water was sweet, limpid,
the Teacher, greatly wearied in body, plunged in —
the Tathāgata, without an equal here in the world.
Having bathed and drunk, the Teacher came out,
revered in the midst of the company of bhikkhus.
The Teacher, the Blessed One, the proclaimer of the Dhamma here,
the Great Seer (mahesī), went on to the Mango Grove.
He addressed the bhikkhu named Cundaka:
"Spread out [the robe] folded in four for me; I shall lie down."
Urged by him of developed self (bhāvitatta), Cunda
spread out the [robe] folded in four right quickly.
The Teacher lay down, greatly wearied in body,
and Cunda too sat down there before him.
