[360] Then Sundarikabhāradvāja the brahmin said this to the Blessed One: "Excellent, Master Gotama! Excellent, Master Gotama! Just as, Master Gotama, one might set upright what has been overturned, or uncover what has been concealed, or point out the way to one who is lost, or hold up an oil lamp in the darkness so that those who have eyes may see forms — even so has the Dhamma been made clear in many ways by Master Gotama. I go for refuge (saraṇa) to Master Gotama, and to the Dhamma, and to the Saṅgha of bhikkhus. May I receive the going forth (pabbajjā) in Master Gotama's presence; may I receive the full ordination (upasampadā)."
And Sundarikabhāradvāja the brahmin received the going forth in the Blessed One's presence; he received the full ordination. … And the venerable Sundarikabhāradvāja became one of the arahants.
