[383] When this was said, the brahmin students (māṇava) Vāseṭṭha and Bhāradvāja said this to the Blessed One: "Excellent, Master Gotama! … May Master Gotama remember us as lay followers (upāsaka) who, from this day forth, have gone for refuge (saraṇa) for as long as life lasts."
