[439] 15. "Twice, O Sakyan (sakka), have I asked," — so said the venerable Mogharāja —
"but the One with Vision (cakkhumā) did not answer me;
yet I have heard that the divine seer (devisi)
answers at the third time of asking.
This world, the other world,
the Brahma world (brahmaloka) together with its devas —
I do not know the view of you,
the renowned Gotama, concerning these.
So to one of such excellent vision (abhikkantadassāvī)
I have come in need with a question:
in what way must one look upon the world
so that the King of Death (maccurājā) does not see one?"
"Look upon the world as empty (suññato),
Mogharāja, ever mindful (sadā sato);
having uprooted the view of self (attānudiṭṭhi),
thus would one cross beyond death.
When one looks upon the world thus,
the King of Death does not see one."
