[72] When this was said, the Venerable Yasoja said this to the Blessed One: "Venerable sir, these five hundred bhikkhus have arrived at Sāvatthī to see the Blessed One. These visiting bhikkhus, exchanging greetings with the resident bhikkhus, preparing lodgings, and putting away their bowls and robes, are making a loud noise, a great noise."
[The Blessed One:] "Go, bhikkhus! I dismiss you. You are not to stay in my presence."
"Yes, venerable sir," those bhikkhus replied to the Blessed One; and rising from their seats, having paid homage to the Blessed One and circumambulated him keeping their right sides toward him, they put the lodging in order and, taking their bowls and robes, set out on a wandering tour toward the Vajjī country. Wandering by stages among the Vajjīs, they went to the river Vaggumudā; and having arrived, they made leaf-huts on the bank of the river Vaggumudā and entered upon the rains residence (vassa).
